BURSTING AT OUR SEAMS

How do you get 1 motor bike, 3 dogs, 4 children and a kayak into a Landrover?

with a lot of pushing, shoving and swearing. (And making sure the kayak is deflatable)

Hi India,
Very lovely and funny family picture. What did you do with the dogs ?
I see that baby seats are compulsory on Harbour Island as well - big loss of space there too.
Note that a non-deflatable kayak would have fit on the top of the car. Or were the children packed on the roof ?
Anyway, thank you for posting this 'everyday scene' (so to say, it's not really everyday, for God's sake) that all families are faced with on every vacation. I hope the ride wasn't too long and that all 'devices' were actually used by the kids (motorbike, kayak, safety jackets a.o.).
The children look all as sweet as ever and Domino is loving being nurtured by her big brothers. O yes, congratulations on the good work ;-)

Lots of love,

Dominique

Wow--are all those kids yours? You should go on youtube and show how you put everyone in your car--I would love to see it! Enjoy reading your website! It's fun to read and great to see you all living the good life. ;)

So funny. It's nice to read your blog.

Not only are you living the "glamourous life", the "island life" but you're also living the "normal life" which is really encouraging for us suburban dwellers.

I love how your son is loving his daschund. So sweet. Oh and did the hat actually survive the trip?

I love the very casual bottle drinking of your daughter, the knowing look she is giving her brother... "I'm too small to help, ha!"

This lovely article and photo bring back so many wonderful memories of when my four daughters were young. Traveling anywhere, even to the park, was quite an adventure. Packing strollers, baby packs, picnic baskets, coolers, diaper bags, etc. and hoping to not forget any crucial. All in time to get to our destination and discover it was nap time for one of the girls. Oh, but those times go by so fast and with melancholy, yearn for them to return. Now, they all drive their own cars and very seldom do we travel all together.
