Harbour Island FOOD BANK

The island is in blazing full bloom. Except not quite. With the closure of the country comes the loss of tourism, the lifeblood of the Bahamas economy.

Several hundred families in the North Eleuthera and Harbour Island district will encounter some degree of food insecurity in the coming weeks and months, so we established a food bank.

The linking of hands between Churches, communities and councils meant the common goal of identifying any one at risk was met.

Around the world right now similar initiatives are in place, similar concerns exist, so to anyone who made a donation to our Harbour Island Food Bank please know how much it meant.

The hope is to continue building this into an ongoing, accountable, dignified food assistance program.
